       Anthrax and Red Wine

Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan

“Good evening, gentlemen! Fred, Larry,” Dick greeted them as he shook hands with each man, respectively.

Fred and Larry were former Special Ops turned CIA contractors, operating on the fringes of what the law permits. His comrades in arms had dubbed Fred ‘El Ladron’ since he was reprimanded for his participation in some murky ‘drug-for-arms’ traffic during the Reagan Administration. As for Larry, he was nicknamed ‘Chewbacca’ because of his height, his wild beard and his unruly hair that made him resemble the popular Star Wars character.

“Good evening, Mr. Vice President.”

“I apologize for the late hour, but I wanted the three of us to meet so that we can update our information about our little operation before my departure tomorrow morning. You know how these visits are short for security reasons…”

“Not a problem, Mr. Vice President,” the two men said in unison.
